Allowed write access to
  • penelopepenelope May 2011

    Hello,

I just installed the free edition of dreamcoder on my
windows 7 system and I get the following error when I try to close the
    application.

Also, I was not able to open the application until I
allowed write access to C:\Program Files\Mentat
    Technologies\DreamCoder\conf\session\oracle.xml

    Thank you
    Penelope

    Hi Penelope,

This is a simple permission issue in your windows 7.

Windows 7 has implemented addition security mechanism to prevent
accidental or intentional file or folder modification by not allowing
users other then owner of file or folder to access it.

    Please check the follow FAQ:

    Excuse me ptesone,

isn't true than files and folders, exclusively used by then application, should be located in the C:\ProgramData\{App}\ folder? (where {App} is the specific forlder for the application). Doesn't the oracle.xml should be located in C:\ProgramData\{app}\conf\session\ folder?

Sorry, but at this moment the product save the configurations files in his own folder, you need to allow the main dreamcoder folder in Program Files (x86).

    Hi Peter,

Yes, you are correcting. Dreamcoder folder is in Program Files (x86). I'm now also experiencing with this problem. I'm now try to change a permission for a user that installed a Dreamcoder, but it's still stuck since I'm not quite understanding of how windows handle this and how to make a change, coz it is not allow me to make a change.
