Starting SQL - Any Advice? 2 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm just looking at Postgres and I am trying to imagine my toolset for the next couple of months.

Any advice on good books for a beginner. Good Tools etc.... ?

How about some sample databases to pull apart and muck with?

Sigurd

ps.

Since nothing I do will be production I'd love to see any wierd and wonderful Beta stuff.

Hi,

I recommend two books :
Beginning Databases with PostgreSQL: From Novice to Professional
www.amazon.com/Beginning-Databases-Postg...244205345&sr=8-5

PostgreSQL (2nd Edition) (Developer's Library)
www.amazon.com/PostgreSQL-Developers-Lib...244205345&sr=8-2

For PostgreSQL tools, check the DreamCoder for PostgreSQL.

In the books you can get a free database examples...

Regards,
Peter
